Using the Set Task function you can assign one or multiple activities to classes, groups, or individual learners to complete during school or at home. Once set, you can review or modify the task at any time. Additionally, you will receive automated email reports once the task deadline has ended.
You will need to sign in to SAM Learning using your unique teacher login details. *Please note, setting tasks/assigning activities is only available through teacher accounts. This function is not available through administrator accounts.
Once you have logged in, click Activities off the top navigation bar then browse/navigate through the various content folders until you have reached a listing of activities available to assign.
Alternatively, you can also browse/search for relevant activities by using the search bar located on the right corner of the navigation bar. Click inside the search bar and type a keyword, concept, or topic then press enter or click the magnifying glass icon.
A list of relevant activities will appear in a list of which you can click on to preview. Select the relevant activities you wish to assign by checking the box(es) on the left hand side of each activity.
After you have selected the activities you would like to set, click the Set Task button located just above the list of activities.
The Set Task wizard will appear with the list of activities you have chosen to set.
Complete screen 1 of 5 by confirming activity details. You can edit this section by removing or adding more activities. To remove an activity, simply click on the X next to the activity. To add additional activities to this task, click Add more then repeat the above steps. Otherwise, if you are satisfied with your selection and ready to continue setting the task, click Next> .
On screen 2 of 5, click inside the task name field and provide a description or task name. The text entered into this field is visible to learners via their "My Tasks" screen.

After you have provided a task name click Next> .
On screen 3 of 5, use the Set Task for: drop-down menu and select who to set the task for.
Based upon your selection in the step above, click on a class/group/individual learner located in the left box to highlight the option, then click Add to have the task set to the class/group/individual learner. Repeat as necessary.
Once the selection has been made, click Next> .
On screen 4 of 5 select "Immediately" or a start date & time. Select an end date & time by which the task and all associated activities should be completed by, then click Finish.
A confirmation page will appear on screen 5, confirming the task has been set along with all details
